Causes of Hair Problems

Over exposure to smoke, sun, coldness, Excessive water activities and the quality of water that is used for washing the hair, Excessive sleep, keeping awake at night, over sweating, Mental worries, Suppression of urges like tears, sneezing, cough etc., Over indulgence in alcohol, Worm manifestations, Avoidance of oil applications, Sedentary form of work with bent head, Excessive speech, Working in foul smelling atmosphere, etc. are the most prominent causes of hair problems.

Excess of Pitha dosha in the body is the chief cause of many hair problems.  Pitha is increased by excessive intake of tea, coffee, alcohol, meats and excessive smoking.  Eating too much fried, oily, greasy, spicy, sour and acidic food also aggravates Pitha.

Intake of too much chemical medicines, low blood circulation in the body, anaemia and general weakness agree diseases, stress, anxiety and mental; tension are also prim causes of hair loss.  The chronic diseases like typhoid fever, presence of dandruff or lice in the head and hormonal imbalance also cause hair loss.
